Air Operated Double Diaphragm Pumps

Leading Air Operated Double Diaphragm Pump In Malaysia

When it comes to air-operated double diaphragm pumps (AODD), we offer a diverse selection at competitive prices without compromising quality. As the leading AODD pump supplier in Malaysia, our products meet high standards. So how does AODD work?

The air operated double diaphragm pump is a type of positive displacement pump that draws fluid into the inlet side of one or more pistons, where it is compressed and pushed out through the outlet side. The inlet and outlet ports are separated by a diaphragm. As the diaphragm moves outward, it creates an area of low pressure on its outer side, drawing fluid into the pump chamber. As this area expands, so does its volume. The air operated double diaphragm pump uses compressed air to actuate these pistons.

The diaphragm seals against a surface called a sealing face or seat, which can be made from various materials including metal and plastic. The chamber wall may also be made from a variety of materials, but should be able to withstand high temperatures and pressures without becoming brittle over time.

Versatile

Flexible installation where pump can be installed with negative or positive suction and even submerged.

Adjustable

Flowrate is adjustable easily with regulator as compressed air is used to drive the pump.

Self-Regulating

Pump can stop running by itself if it has a closed discharge or a shut off valve situation.

Working Principle

AODD Pump is a reciprocating pump type which uses compressed air as primary driver. On the suction stroke, compressed air fills the left inner chamber, causing the opposing diaphragm to create suction, lifting the lower valve ball to pull in fluid at the inlet. Simultaneously, the left fluid chamber is in the “discharge” cycle.

During the discharge cycle, compressed air fills the right inner chamber, causing the upper valve ball to open and discharge fluid. Simultaneously, the left chamber is in the “suction” cycle. This back-and-forth motion forces liquid out of one chamber and into the discharge piping while the other chamber is being filled with liquid at the same time.
